Cahuilla Mountain Ranch

About Us

Cahuilla Mountain Ranch is located on the Cahuilla Indian Reservation in Anza, Ca. We are a third generation, Native American owned, cattle ranch. Our black angus cattle are happily raised on an open range. They are pasture fed and free of steroids and hormones. We initially began to raise cattle when multiple children in our family developed food allergies and intolerances. We began to take a hard look at the foods we were ingesting and realized the best way to nourish our family was with food we could trust. As the herd began to grow, so did the opportunity to offer this same option to our local communities. At Cahuilla Mountain Ranch your beef is born and raised 100% grass-fed grass finished on a free range throughout their entire life.

How is our beef processed?

Our beef is processed in a USDA inspected and approved

facility.

We utilize vacuum sealed packaging to prevent the beef

from being exposed to oxygen and allow it to

stay fresher longer.

Using vacuum sealed packaging

allows our beef to stay fresher 3-5 times

longer than paper butcher packaging.

The butcher cuts and freezes the meat. We bring it home and store it into our freezers until delivery to your home.

FAQ's

How is my beef raised?

Our cattle are born and raised on our ranch. After our calves are born they remain with their mother cows through the finishing stage. Calves achieve maximum growth from their mother cows milk and wean when they are ready. Following weaning our cattle graze in open spaces and grow slowly without added hormones and live as nature intended. Our cattle is never fed corn, grain, or soy to increase weight.

How is my beef processed?

We partner with a USDA approved butchering facility to give you the best quality beef. Your beef is delivered to your door. Our packaging is all vacuum sealed with clear plastic and fully labeled.

Is everything frozen upon delivery?

Yes. The butcher cuts and freezes the meat. We bring it home and store it into our freezers until delivery to your home.

How long will my meat last in the freezer?

According to the USDA, Frozen beef is safe indefinitely. However, for best quality, use uncooked meat within 12 months, and cooked beef within two to three months.

We recommend getting a deep freezer that does not automatically defrost, as this feature can shorten the overall shelf-life of the beef.

FAQ's

How do i order?

We are a small ranch and butcher based on our cattles growth cycles. We do not force them to grow faster than natural. For this reason, it is best to order via email, phone, Facebook, or Instagram. This allows us to give you an accurrate timeline on availability.

Can i buy your beef by the cut or in smaller packages?

Yes! Please follow us on social media to see pop up shops we will have beef available at and local farm stands that carry our beef.

Why don’t you sell at farmers markets?

We are a small family ranch. All ranching and selling is completed by our family. We are also raising 4 children. Farmers markets do not allow children to accompany vendors. It is important to us to have our children a part of our ranch in all aspects. We only sell at locations that allow them to be present and at self-serve farmstands.
